Add-On Domains

If your package includes Add-on Domain/s AND if you are not using FrontPage, you can have a totally different domain name associated with a subdirectory within your primary domain's hosting account. Rather than simply parking a different domain to redirect to the main (index) page of your web site, an Add-On Domain allows you to have a completely different index page (i.e. the index page of the subdirectory). It creates/uses a subdomain to do so. This subdomain, contained within a subdirectory of your hosting account, acts like a completely separate web site. In fact you can have as many completely different domains hosted within one account as your total of Primary + Add-on domain limits (and total space and bandwidth limits) allow!

So, hosting accounts with Add-On Domains are frequently known as "multi-domain hosting accounts" because the second (and third, fourth, etc.) domain behaves like a completely separate web site even though it is held within a subfolder of your original hosting account.

Just like your primary domain, Add-On Domains are accessible by both http://www.yourseconddomain.com and http://yourseconddomain.com (with or without the "www"). You can upload files to an Add-On domain either by using a username/password you assign when you create the Add-On Domain, or by simply uploading to its folder within your primary hosting account.

NOTE: Only the paid Packages of Starter level and above (not the Free NPCS Packages or Bare-Bones Bargain Packages) have Add-On Domain capability activated in their cPanels. Additionally, we do not recommend using Add-On Domains with FrontPage. This is because of the interaction of FrontPage extensions with the web site and its directories/subdirectories. If you need hosting for multiple sites and are using FrontPage, we recommend separate hosting accounts for each domain/web site you need hosted.

CREATING AN ADDON DOMAIN (For NON-FrontPage Users):

Requirements:
1 available Subdomain in your hosting account
1 available Add-On Domain in your hosting account
An extra top-level domain name (www.somedomain.com) already owned by you, with its DNS fully propagated to the same name servers as the hosting account you are adding the new domain to.

Before activation of an Add-On Domain in your hosting account, you must first register the new second domain (if you haven't already done so), and then modify the DNS to use the same 1-2-Wonder Hosting NameServers as your primary domain uses for your account. The new domain's DNS must be fully resolved in the domain registry before the cPanel can create your Add-On Domain. Also, there cannot be an existing subdomain in your web space with the same directory name that will be used for your addon domain.

In your 1-2-Wonder Hosting cPanel:
Just click on Add-On Domains
